I’m one of those weirdos who are always thinking about what gifts to give, and who look forward to nearly every chance to give gifts. In fact, I’m often ready to give gifts even when ‘the gifting’ itself is not expected. 🙂
Also, if I’m not happy with my gift, or I don’t have one which makes me happy, I simply don’t give anything! (No matter the occasion!)
Yes, that’s me, and yes, my phase of – let’s call it ‘serious preparation’ – has begun! The wrapping paper has been bought, and I’m still thinking about ribbons, cards and colors. Mostly, everything is ready and good to go – in my mind. The color green seems to have prevailed, not because it’s trendy, in, etc., but because I love it! And… because it makes us happier! 😉
I won’t mind it if natural, black and white (the classic trio) make their way in there as well!
Of course, who says that your gift wrapping has to be passé? If you really enjoy a whirlwind of color, that’s just fine and you should go for it!
I believe that NOW! Is the ideal time for some serious scouting, but also for buying those little things which not only keep our nerves calm, but are also our ‘lifeline’:
- Wrapping paper (you can already buy it, and I believe that all the ones you find most interesting will be entirely bought out by weirdos like me… and there’s a lot of us, believe me!)
- Ribbons, ornaments, cards with messages (go nuts! – now’s the ideal time!)
- Make sure to buy (and hide) – tape, glue and scissors (you can’t play without quality tools!)
I’m trying to say that the holidays are right around the corner and that the craziest time of the year is starting, and it’s always filled with joy, fun, family and traditional gatherings. When you’re done with this phase, then you’re left only with finding the presents!
And for that, you have more than enough time… or do you?
